I'm Writing a Sequel?!

I'm inching closer to my first ever published novel. Self-publication took a back seat while I has some personal issues to cope with. Now I'm functional, and I'm hoping to stay that way while I prepare my book for this big step.

My mentor suggested I draw in readers by writing a sequel in the form of a short story. I don't want to delve too deeply in what happens after the novel ends, as I feel many characters could do with a break after what they've been through.

However, I also like the idea of doing a perspective flip, and there's one character whose POV I'd like to explore. So right now, I'm working on a cozy piece.
